Waiting. Or Something Else

My mom and I were watching Mr. Mag.orium's Wonder Em.porium today, my last day of bed rest. It is a light-hearted movie full of fun dialogue and...magic. This one exchange between the store owner (played by Dustin Hoffman) and the store manager (Natalie Portman) jumped out at me.

Molly: “37 seconds…great, well done, now we wait.”
Mr. Magorium: “No, we breathe. We pulse. We regenerate. Our hearts beat, our minds create, our souls ingest. 37 seconds well-used is a lifetime.”

So, I've decided. Instead of waiting. For my 2ww, I'm going to breathe, pulse and regenerate. My heart will beat, my mind create and my soul ingest. What does this really mean? I have no idea. But sounds much better than waiting, no?

Beautiful! That is such a wonderful way of looking at this time. I'm trying to take a similar approach this cycle, just staying in the moment, paying attention. Easier said than done, of course, but every breath is an opportunity to come back to mindfulness. It truly is possible.

Thanks for sharing that - I've been wanting to see that movie since it came out - it looks like a nice light diversion.

Yes yes yes!!!! I love this!!!! I have been trying to think about what it looks like to wait mindfully, intentionally - and this is the best picture of that I can imagine. Thank you so much for sharing! I am totally borrowing this from you to inspire me during the remainder of my "wait" - aka "breathing, regenerating, creating"....

Thanks for the inspiration. I am breathing, pulsing and reginerating because of you.

I am glad your best rest is coming to an end!

What a wonderful way to look at it. You aren't waiting, you're growing and rejuvenating. That is absolutely the perfect attitude. Please forgive me for saying this, but I feel so good about this for you.

I'm sitting here wondering what to do right now too, so maybe that'll work. I dunno, work's stressing me though so I have that question too - if i should just call in sick for a bit, or if I'm already too late for that.

Ugh, I hate waiting. HATE IT.
