I Almost Didn't Even Notice

My little Freezer Buns blog was born a year ago today.  At the time, our first FET had just been cancelled after two postponements and a cancelled fresh IVF cycle.  I had an "irregularity" in my lining and was waiting for a D&C to clear it out and make sure it was nothing concerning.  It turned out to be nothing.  But it was a dark time for me.  It was just before the holidays and it cast a shadow for me over all of our holiday celebrations.

Fast forward a year and look where we are.  I'm 31 weeks (I'm too superstitious to round up here) pregnant with boy/girl twins. Our family and friends are supportive and excited for us.  We have a lot to be thankful for this year.  It hasn't been easy getting to this point.  If I had any say in the matter, we would have been pregnant with (or even have) our second child by now.  But it obviously doesn't work that way. I am happy to be where we are now. And I'm holding my breath that things will go well and these babies will not arrive before they are ready.

Soon I will be creating a new blog. I want to continue to blog once Apple and Banana are born, but it doesn't seem right to continue in this space that was dedicated to getting them here safely. Plus I would like to post pictures as they grow and I don't want to have those pictures floating around in cyberspace without some control over who can view them. So my next blog will be invite only. Family and IRL friends will all get invites if you are interested. For my blogging buddies who I've "known" for awhile now, you will also be invited if you want. And for those lurkers out there (I know you're reading), I won't feel comfortable sending you an invite unless I have a chance to get to know you a bit first, so now is your chance to start commenting, etc. I will let you all know when the time comes to let me know you want an invite. It will likely be sometime shortly after Apple and Banana are born. Hopefully not for a number of weeks to come.

I think that makes complete sense, to open a new blog that is about the babies, not what it took to get them here. Of course, I hope it is several more weeks until you have to set that up. Keeping you and Apple and Banana in my prayers.

Congrats on one year - and yes, what a difference a whole year makes.

I am thrilled you began this blog because then I got to meet you which has been fabulous!!! I think a nice sacred spot for the twins is a great idea...

I think it is a good idea to password protect baby pics. I don't, however, as I couldn't get a grip with Wordpress. And it is highly unlikely that someone would take (well, keep) my duo for more than 3 seconds as they tend to scream at increasingly high decibels: "I need Mommmmmmeeeeee!!"

I can't believe it- you are almost there- keep up the good work!

Happy Bloggiversary! Yes, that's right, it's not a real word but that's ok, right?

Hang in there, A&B!!!

You really went through a lot and look at you now!

I for one would LOVE an invite!

There are only a few blogs that I still follow after they have gotten a BFP, and you're one of them. Your case gives me a lot of hope, and I just really enjoy reading your blog. Plus, you've been there for me and I appreciate that. I would love to see what bringing home apple and banana is like for you, and how your life changes. Hopefully I'll be there someday soon, and really I have no clue about what will be like.

I've often wondered (or dreamed) about making the transfer from a fertility blog to a baby blog. I like your idea. It seems like a wonderful transition. Do I have to keep commenting each day in order to earn a password?

I am holding my breath for you. Apple and Banana need oxygen so breathe.

I have been following you for months, but I am not a commenting person. I always feel like it is intrustive. I would love to follow your journey. I don't have a journal, don't post comments much, and yet, feel like I would love to follow Apple and Banana grow up.

HI Denise...I'm getting back in the loop, catching up, surfacing, and I am hoping I can score an invite to your new blog. Is it too late?
