Random Bullets

  • Why do I have to watch 5 continuous hours of the olympics to see a full gymnastics meet?  Can't they show it all at once?
  • Forgot to mention I've been completely off Zo.fran since August 1st and doing pretty good without it.  Yay!
  • Got a recommendation for a good pediatrician this week (thanks KA!) and set up a prospective new patient interview.
  • The weirdest pregnancy symptom I have is the increase in blood volume and how hard my heart is working to move all that blood.  It feels like my heart is racing all the time.  You know that feeling you get when you get really nervous and your heart feels like it's in your throat and you can feel every single heartbeat?  At first it only happened when I would lay down.  Now it happens at random times when I'm sitting, standing or walking and quite frequently.  Kinda freaks me out.  I keep thinking, "why am I nervous right now," but it has nothing to do with nerves.
  • Singing in the car at the top of my lungs (by myself of course) loses some of its appeal when I become short of breath so easily.  My car must be happy.
  • I am so glad it is no longer 100 degrees every day.  Ahhhhh.
  • The D.NC is in two weeks and our office is still claiming it will be "business as usual."
  • Later this year, my work is implementing some new policies including the possibility of working 9/80's (work 8 9-hour days, 1 8-hour day, and take every other Friday off).  I might try to work this as every other Monday off instead.  Sounds blissful!
  •  There must be some schools back in session this week because my morning commute has just sucked lately.  My commute Monday morning was almost 2 hours because of an accident that shut down the highway (it is normally 30 minutes).

I had the same heart racing thing for the final three months of my pregnancy. It drove me half crazy because it would wake me up. I always thought I was having a panic attack.

Good luck getting through it. The good news is that unlike the pregnancy weight, it does go away as soon as the babies are born. :0)

ugh! I get that heart racing thing too! Glad I am not the only one. But I hate feeling like I am anxious all the time. And I am still trying to convince hubby that I am not just "out of shape" - but that really. really. this is an honest to goodness symptom of pregnancy!

I'm glad it is NOT 100 degrees there either, that got really old! I came from Florida to get away from the heat... :) hoping it's gorgeous if we return in Oct/Nov

OMG!! That's horrible. Yes, I felt my heart doing that the other day too while laying on the couch adn I was like, this is weird. At least I am not the only one! Yes, and I agree why we have to go to swimming and Men's Beach volleyball before we see the gymnastics last to rotations! LOL!

I never attributed the heart pounding noise in my ears with pregnancy. Of course, I do now!

YAY for the proposed new work schedule. It would be wonderful to have a 3 day weekend every other week - and what a great way to spend some great quality time w Apple and Banana!!

W're supposedly business as usual down here for the DNC too. Somehow, I imagine my light-rail commute will be hell...

And you are so much farther along in planning anything and everything having to do with babies. I'm SOOO not there.

I know what you're saying about the extra blood...just wait...you could get spontaneous nose bleeds like me...those are always fun! Apparently it's because there's just too much blood! I like random bullets...and you're right about the Olympics...I'm watching waaaayyy too much!

Oh, I've never heard of the pregnant heart racing thing, but that makes sense. That would make me nervous too. In fact, that's why I switched to decaf since regular coffee did that to me. Is that symptom something you get used to over time, you think? Hopefully it's only temporary. : ) My dh has that work schedule (works for the state of NJ) and he's SO happy about it - and I'm SOOO envious of him. It works out really well, at least for him, so you should definitely give it a shot! : )

Hi Denise - to answer your question about the hip pain - yes, it's the hip I'm laying on at the time that hurts like hell! I tried putting a bigger pillow between my legs last night and that helped a bit...my prego pillow is a little thin in that area, so I thought some extra padding to lift my top leg would help - and it did somewhat. Not sure if that's a long-term fix or not though.

Because gymnastics is why 90% of the people are watching, and NBC has to make sure the sponsors get their money's worth for the commercials, LOL ;o)
